Gascovid Advance Liquid 150ml

Gascovid Advance Liquid with the formulation with sodium alginate 1000mg and potassium bicarbonate 200mg, it provides in relieving GERD with long duration of action up to 4 hours.

Indications: Treatment of symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn, indigestion occurring to the reflux of stomach contents, for instance, after gastric surgery, as a result of hiatus hernia, during pregnancy or accompanying reflux oesophagitis.
Actions and Pharmacology: On ingestion the suspension reacts with gastric acid to form a raft of alginic acid gel having a near-neutral pH and which floats on the stomach contents effectively (up to 4 hours) impeding gastro-oesophageal reflux. In severe cases the raft itself may be refluxed into the oesophagus in preference to the stomach contents and exert a demulcent effect.
Composition: Each 10ml contains Sodium Alginate 1000 mg and Potassium Bicarbonate 200 mg.

Precautions:
– If symptoms do not improve after seven days, the clinical situation should be reviewed.
– This product contains sodium and potassium. This should be taken into account when a highly restricted salt diet is recommended, e.g. in some cases of congestive cardiac failure and renal impairment or when taking drugs which can increase plasma potassium levels.
– This product contains calcium carbonate. Care needs to be taken in treating patients with hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis and recurrent calcium containing renal calculi.
– The medical product contains methyl hydroxybenzoate and propyl hydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
-Treatment of children younger than 12 years of age is not generally recommended, except on medical advice.

Direction:
– For oral use. Shake well before use.
– Adults, including the elderly and children 12 years and over: 5-10 ml (one to two 5 ml measuring spoons) after meals and at bedtime or as directed.
– Children under 12 years: Should only be taken on medical advice.
