INDICATION: Calcium salts are mainly in the treatment of calcium deficiency, hypocalcemia, post-menopausal osteoporosis, and conditions requiring increased calcium demand in pregnancy lactation, old age, and growth period.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
– Caution in patients with impaired renal function or a history of renal stone formation.
– Calcium salts reduce the absorption of tetracyclines. Patients are advised not to take calcium salts within 1 to 3 hours of tetracyclines.
– It should not be taken for prolonged periods without medical advice.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Adults: Oral, 1-5 g daily in divided dose (up to 16 tablets daily).
